The Jury

Each year in April, a call is made to all eligible countries surrounding the Pacific Rim via the PRSC website for each country to put forward a judging jury and for competitors to put forward country entries.

For simplicity, for each country, the previous year’s jury is generally responsible for proposing the current year’s jury, however there are instances where the entire jury will be dismissed and reformed and in any case, the PRSC steering committee is responsible for the choosing, approval and ratification of the jury, prior to the application for entries.

Country juries must be comprised of no less than 3 and no more than 11 members.  Jury members must be resident in their country of membership, except in special circumstances.  In most cases, the jury members will have some musical, performance or production expertise, but this is not a pre-requisite.  The Jury members should be demonstrably active in the arts, these can be students, but should be older than 18 and generally younger than 50.

The Jury must change every 4 years, with a minumum 50% change every 2nd year.  Nominations to be had by May each year, with a vote by the existing Jury members and representatives from Gold Sponsors, with the PRSC executive to OK all final appointments.

Watch out for our Jury call shortly, if you’d like to be involved.

What are we?

The Song Competition ( – is a global, internationally-based, wide reaching competition designed for young people around the world to be able to showcase their talent in the form of music composition and performance in a neutral, familiar and non-competitively threatening way.

The vehicle for the competition is the Internet, which allows a wide demographic reach and cultural diversity for the competition, together with a low-cost timely base to distribute and publish content and judging results.

The Culture and Aims of the competition are twofold:

To foster the interaction of young creative minds around the globe and to nurture feelings of community, companionship and camaraderie, and

To assist and foster creative growth from less developed and under-resourced countries and communities to be able to provide opportunities to sponsor local talent, not just internationally visible writers, composers and performers.

The is the first of our regions to be setup for competition.

The competition is run by Talent Storm Pty Ltd out of Sydney, Australia.  If you’d like to contact us – the email is
